A: un-install it and unplug reboot after start up cancle out of any new hardware if it shows up then install the software that came with it and reboot then plug it in after start

A: Dont do it. yes its possible but it can be pirating and is unnecceary. Why would you want to run OS X on a PC? Theres no reason to. If you must run both OS get a Mac and use Boot Camp. Otherwise use Windows or Install a nice copy of Ubuntu Linux on it :P
Q: I want to know how to downgrade my acer aspire 5050 windows vista to windows xp?
I don't like the way my pc runs with windows vista. I know there's a way, If anyone can tell me how step by step, I would greatly appreciate it. I heard about downloading some drivers, but I don't know which ones.

A: If your has Vista pre-installed, I would suggest you not to change it to XP.
There are known to be a lot of bugs on the drivers compatibility with an XP systems, especially when the computer is pre-installed with Vista.
However, if you insist on reverting back to XP, it is very easy to do. First thing to do once you bought an XP CD is that you should back up your data somewhere. Unless the data is of no importance to you, I suggest you do this, because once XP is installed, the computer would be starting a fresh start.
Once you have backed up all your data, insert the XP CD on the computer and start on the installation process. The installation process should be easy enough and that the on screen guidance would guide you until your computer is up and running.
Now, this is where the hard part comes in. Your computer is going to be in a mess. The drivers that comes with the Windows Xp isn't going to be very good, so you gotta find a driver that is compatible with the Xp system. This is not going to be easy and there isn't necessarily a driver since the laptop initially came with Vista.
Once you have already done this, your computer would be ready to be used.
Q: My Acer Aspire 5050 laptop was formatted and i don't have Acer Empowering Technology anymore. How do i get it?
I still have XP and have tried to download utilities but they wern't supported by my operating system. What do i do?? Please help!! :)

Do I assume your HDD is clean of XP or you have XP installed and you just need the drivers from Acer For the drivers and utilities go to.

If you need to install XP use your XP installation CD if you have not got one borrow one as long as it is the same edition as the original one you had installed or your product key will not work (Product Key found on bottom of computer on a white sticker)

Q: what is another charger that would work for an acer aspire 5050?
I just bought a laptop off of ebay, and it doesn't have a charger with it, i went on a bunch of websites to look for it and i couldn't find one because i think that its an older version, does anyone know if there is a different charger that is the same size and fits my laptop?

I would go with the first one because it is 65W which is what the original adapter is supposed to be.

then click on device manager then right clicko n the driver that isnt installed and has the yellow thing on it the click update driver then you should be able to install it

A: Normally these type of PCs disable overclocking options in their BIOS to reduce the cost of them. There are several factors that will make a PC slow. HDD speed, both transfer and RPMs, will have a HUGE impact. Yes, RAM also plays a huge role. Whether the PC has a 3D card also affects overall performance. Last but not least, CPU speed. People seem to think that the higher the CPU speed, the faster the PC is. This isn't true, since all of the things mention above will determine how 'fast' a computer is.
Now for the main course. Disable programs (from starting up) that are not vital for normal operation. For example, if you have lets say, Yahoo! Messenger installed, and it loads up when Windows starts up, you can disable this from loading, thus improving performance by a lot (I mean it too). Other programs could be stuff such as that Catalyst program from ATi, Java Console, iTunes, and so on. You may click on Start>Run and type in msconfig. Click on the last tab from the right (StartUp) and you can disable certain things in here. Be careful however; disabling the wrong thing could cause havoc on your system.
Run a scan on your PC. Perhaps you have spyware/adware. Spybot S & D (search on google) is an awesome FREE software to help you with that.
Over the counter PCs are usually loaded with a lot of crap from the factory. Uninstalling many of these unecessary things will also improve overall performance. Good luck!

Q: Installing a Dual Core in a Acer 5050-3785?
I understand that it has a Socket S1 inside of it. I really don't want to open it up unless I have to. However, I wanted to know if its possible to put a new CPU in there.
A: It would be cheaper to just buy a better lap top. Yes you could have CPU changed/replaced but will be expensive. You should check with Acer customer service and support about cost and if any thing else like mother board might have to also be replaced.

A: The video quality from youtube might not have anything to with your computer, you might have a slow connection, try playing a DVD movie and see if your video suffers like youtube, if the video is good, it's not your pc.
