Q: how do i recharge my ACER notebook battery without connecting to AC power supply?
A: YOU CANT!! you have to connect your AC adapter to charge your battery!!
Q: Can I insert battery into my Acer 4920G Notebook when it is on?
Can I insert battery into my Acer 4920G Notebook when it is on?
I have problems doing that.
I usually remove the battery when using my notebook on AC power, because I heard that using battery too often will reduce battery life.
But when I wanted to insert the battery into my notebook, I start to lose some of the notebook functions, such as touch pad, network connection, shutting down the computer etc...
There is once I even got a Blue Screen of Death.
I have other friends using other model of notebook and they don't have this problem.
Is there a problem with my notebook or the Acer 4920G does not allow inserting the battery when using it?
A: There should be no problem inserting the battery while you are using your laptop on AC mode. I've did that at least 99 times without problem. Even though I am not using an Acer but I believe laptop industries have got to a point where doing so will not cause any problem to the laptop. That's a thing of the past.
It's true that using the battery often will reduce the battery life but nowadays with Lithium-ion batteries, power management and recharge cycle has been tremendously improved. You should be doing fine if you leave your battery in all the time (while on AC mode).
Maybe you want to bring your laptop in for service. If you are under warranty they will gladly repair/replace the laptop for you if they found it defective.
Q: I might be getting a acer notebook AS4315 Can you tell me since I hear the battery life only last maybe 2 hour
can you purchase a longer battery for it or is that it. I knoww nothing about it. I only know everyone complains about it. I wondered if you could buy a longer battery for it
A: 2 hours is not an unusual capacity for a battery. They can only increase the capacity by making the battery much bigger, or changing to more expensive technology. Most people solve the problem by carrying a spare battery.
Q: how do i get my acer notebook out of safemode,i,ve tried taking the battery off and restarting it but it is?
still in safe mode all the icons are huge
A: You can try to restart the computer and than hit F8 a couple of times before Windows begins to load. You should get a menu that will give you a few different boot options. Choose "Boot Normal".
Q: Question about Acer Aspire 4520 Notebook?
I recently bought an Acer notebook and the battery does not last as long as I hoped it would. Are there batteries I can buy for this model that will last longer then roughly 2.5-3 hours? Thanks.
Okay, will any 12 cell battery fit my laptop?
A: You have to buy the 12-cell batteries instead of the 9-cell batteries, they tend to last shorter if you have Vista as an Operating System. I'm pretty sure you have a Vista machine, because they use up way more ram and processing power. Good Luck to you.
Q: acer 9500 notebook - show remaining battery life in notification area?
A: If you are running XP, you need to go to the Control Panel, Power Options, Power Meter tab or Advanced tab (I'm on my desktop and I don't remember which one). On one of these tabs you can select the "Always show icon on the taskbar" check box.
Q: Is a new ACER Notebook still good if it is turned on before the battery is fully charged?
My mom is freaking out because my brother turned on my new laptop for college without charging the battery it first. She read in the instructions that it should be charged before being turned on so shes worried its been damaged. However, he was on setting up my preferences for about 15 minutes and it seemed to be working fine. But she wants to return it fearing that the computer will have problems down the road. Is the ACER still good to use?
Ah, great, thank you all for your reassurance! you really helped resolve this hysteria!
A: Sure is!
For best performance, it is recommend to fully charge the battery and then discharge the battery (by disconnecting the power cored from the electricity and using the computer with the battery only till the battery is totally flat)
repeat this step for 3-5 time and you will be fine!
Q: Q: Battery Life : Acer Extensa 5420-5687 Notebook?
Just wondering if anyone with experience with this laptop can tell me how long the battery should last on the 3 power modes.
A: Bought one of these a week ago. At full power, as in LCD at max brightness, no screensaver, etc, it lasts about 2 hours. If you're computing in a dark room, you can squeeze 3 hours out of it.

Q: What will I do with my new Acer Aspire 3680 notebook?
I have a brand new Acer Aspire 3680 notebook bought from Alaska. I'm in the Philippines and I was told that I have to plug it in a 110 voltage transformer. I used an extension and plugged it in the 110 V in my pc's avr. Now, formerly, I drained the battery (being that it's my first time of use). So here's the problem...the notebook won't open/charge, I really don't know. What happends is when we press the power button on, the batter light just flashes. We tried it for 3 minutes then we took the plug off. Help anybody...is my laptop broken? What do I do?
A: That's unusual. Almost all laptop AC adapters are auto-ranging or auto-volt. It should work from 100VAC to 240VAC. So there should be no need for a step down transformer. Read the label on the AC adapter thoroughly.
I suspect there is no power from that 110V outlet of the AVR or the socket is loose and not contacting the plug properly. If the laptop's AC adapter indicates wide voltage range (say, up to 240VAC), then just plug it to any AC wall outlet where you would have a snug fit.
Hope this helps. (Noypi here)
