Q: what is the difference between acer travelmate laptop and an aspire?
is there any difference between travelmate and an aspire? what's the difference? for a student like me, what's best? having an aspire or travelmate? i like acer than any other brands but which one should i consider? thanks!
A: Travelmate is businesss line - more professional colors, standardised look - standard keyboard and dock layout - docking capabilities - XP Pro.
Aspire is consumer line - sometimes not as powerful. XP Home, (Though now, it should be Vista Premium and Vista Basic, not sure)
I have a travelmate and works well, just ACER power adapters are awful and I had to buy a third party. It is good value for money for features.
I personally love Thinkpads and Sony for elegant workable design.
Dell Latitudes are good rugged notebooks too.
HP/Toshiba again, business lines are good, but consumer are cheap plastic.
I highly recommend Lenovo for the quality of metal case on my T60 (vs a travelmate which is cheap plastic - touch the back of the screen and the screen goes blurry - so thin)

Q: What voltage&ere required for battery charger for acer travelmate 200xc?
I have misplaced the ac power adapter for my acer laptop travelmate 2001xc, a universal charger available in the market but want to know what volt&ere? The battery pack is 14.8V & 400mAH, so what equevelent charger i should buy?
A: Get a 15V charger 400mAH. Usually this is safe. Some chargers have a variable voltage control. If you have the cash, buy the original charger from an Acer service center (or you could look in pc surplus shops)
Q: How easy would it be to repair a broken headphone socket in a Acer Travelmate?
I accidently managed to break the headphone socket when i knocked my Acer travelmate laptop of a low table whilst i had headphones plugged in and now can't get any sound out of the socket i know it's not a problem with the headphones as they work perfectly in other divices how easy would it be to repair the problem myself
A: i would take it in a shop for repair because laptops don't have much room to work in and you will end up with a broken laptop
Q: How do I remove the keyboard of my Acer TravelMate 6291 laptop?
I own an Acer TravelMate 6291 laptop, which, for the most part of our seven-month partnership, has been good to me. I read recently on Lifehacker that keyboards can be very dirty, so I want to detach mine so I can clean it. I'm having a hard time with it, though. How do I detach the keyboard? SOS ASAP please?
A: Often times the pannel right above the keyboard will pop off and review a few screws that hold donw the keyboard

I am really interested in purchasing an Acer TravelMate C213TMi laptop, or any of the TravelMate C200 series laptops. I have searched and searched and only found places in the UK that sell it and they do not do business worldwide. I really need a new laptop and when I saw this one, I have been drooling over it since. Please someone out there let me know where I can buy one here in the US. Thanks a Million!
A: There are models that are only sold in certain geographic regions. Also some models have TWINS that are named something different. Go to acer and chat their tech support or check for anoter model with the same specs. you might want to find a better quality value brand like dell, toshiba, hp or compaq, or a better quality brand like falcoln, xps, voodoo or alien
Q: Is acer Travelmate 6292 a good choice in choosing my first laptop?
I am planning to buy a laptop. My choices are Sony Vaio SZ and Acer Travelmate 6292. however, i just found out that Sony Vaio costs much money than acer and Acer travelmate has more features compared to Sony vaio SZ.
I need help if Acer really has a better performance. thanks
A: I just bought the acer travelmate 6292 yesterday!! i love it sooo much!! why? because i am this laptop is fast + light! Light enough for me to carry around. But if you have really big hands (if you are a really big person) then you might find the keyboard too hard to type on. I found it ok though, since my hands are not large. But I think the sony machines are wayyy overpriced. I had my eye on the pink sony viao... but it was $1200. They're nice.. but they come with a big price tag.

I tried to look for the technical details in the internet but the only available site is not in english. Is there a big difference compared to the Acer travelmate 3252 ?

Q: Acer Travelmate?
Im going to be a freshmen in college this coming fall and my school sells laptops with specific programs on it to be used at the school and the best one they have is the acer travlemate 4230-6433 i try looking up reviews for it but didnt find any. so i was wondering if anybody has this laptop and can tell me what they think about it, or kno anything about it..like how it runs, and stuff a college student should know lol? im gonna use it for school and some gaming for when i get bored in the dorm lol the only game i really play is counter-strike..so plz let me kno wut u guys think need to get it soon.
A: it's okay , medium performance , it will do college work fine , maybe medium games , but nothing super , i think u should get it as long as it's the best one in ur choices

Q: my acer travelmate 4151 beeps continuously and does not start?

I have travelmate 4151NLCi laptop , since 2 year , currently I have problem that while I am working sometimes it freeze ( hangs ), I press powe button continuosly to switch off , and then press again power to start my laptop again, when pressing the power button it beeps loudly. I feel that there is a releation between hanging , and beeping since the same scenario happend 3 to 4 times.
A: It might be something with your battery. Like it is not charged. Just take out your battery and check for any damages.
Q: I want to replace a DVD drive on an ACER Travelmate 2300. Can I get instructions on removing the back cover?
I have an Acer Travelmate 2304LCI Laptop computer. The Acer web site instructions advise me to "slide the AcerMedia release latch as shown". My computer does not contain a slide release latch. It appears that I will have to disassemble the laptop to gain access to the DVD drive. Is this a DIY project? Does anyone have a link to a manual that will explain the steps necessary to remove the drive?
A: Remove the screw at bottom of laptop near to the DVD drive and pull the drive out ....
Q: Where Can I Download an ACER TravelMate 2500 service manual?
I've had an Acer TravelMate 2500 laptop for a very long time now, and I would like to make some repairs to it. Before, I was able to get service manuals for my other two Acer laptops from "csd.acer.com.tw" but it doesn't seem to be working anymore. Anybody know an alternate site where I can get an ACER TravelMate 2500 service manual?
A: If google does not help, ask http://manualfox.com - this is a manual search agency, they find you virtually EVERY manual ever made. It can take some days and it is not for free, but it´s worthy in many cases. They saved my live twice...
Q: How many hard drive slots does an acer travelmate 4000 have?
I am upgrading my travelmates hard drive and i am wondering how many hard disks it could fit.
A: Most laptops, this one included only provide space for a single hard drive. For the most part only some 17" systems will have a secondary bay for a second hard drive. Also be sure to get the correct type of hard drive for your laptop ( IDE ) and not a newer SATA drive.
