Q: I am selling my Dell notebook battery. How much charge does it probably have after about 1.5 years of use?
It belonged to a laptop which was dropped+screen got broke. It is not one that is recalled (battery).

A: It depends on how it was treated. Some Dell batteries have 2 hours of charge capable in that time. Others cant do anything. Why are you selling it? Is it one of the recalled ones?

Q: Dell notebook - battery not charging when plugged in?
Has anyone else had this problem with their laptop? How much did it cost to have it fixed? Thanks in advance for your help! It might help to mention that the laptop is only about 15 months old, and unfortunately, the warranty has expired. For a while I was able to turn and hold the cable a certain way and it would connect. But the connection must be completely broken in there because it no longer will charge and since the battery is dead I can't even use it. Frustration!

A: i had a similar problem with my laptop but since it was an old laptop it would have been more expensive to get it fixed than to buy a new one. What happens is that the part where your AC adapter plugs in gets loose and since it's welded on to the mother board the whole thing has to be replaced, unless you still have warranty then it might be cheap. Try holding the cable off to one side or the other to see if it charges. If it does than the problem is that the part I was talking about is loose.

Q: Does anyone make an aftermarket battery for dell notebook computers, Secifically, the inspiron 1501?
I WANT TO FIND SOMETHING CHEAPER THAN THE STUFF THEY HAVE ON THE DELL SITE OR EBAY. THANKS!

A: It's one of the few batteries that has not been mass copied yet. You'll find them as new old stock on ebay for $75 or so.

Q: Battery Light on Dell notebook Flashing?
It's an inspirion 9300. The light keeps flashing green to red even while plugged in. It's been two years. Does this simply mean get a new battery? Or some other issue? Thanks!

A: NOTE: Battery operating time (the time the battery can hold a charge) decreases over time. Depending on how often the battery is used and the conditions under which it is used, you may need to purchase a new battery during the life of your computer. CHECK THE BATTERY STATUS LIGHT — If the battery status light flashes orange or is a steady orange the battery charge is low or depleted. Connect the computer to an electrical outlet. If the battery status light flashes green and orange, the battery is too hot to charge. Shut down the computer, disconnect the computer from the electrical outlet, and then let the battery and computer cool to room temperature. If the battery status light rapidly flashes orange, the battery may be defective. Contact Dell.

Q: why is that a dell notebook can oly hold on a battery for 2 hours but others can hold longer?
i just got a dell inspiron B130 back in octcber last year. buit it can olny say on with out being pluged in for 2 hours tops may be 2 hours and 15mins but all others i see can stay on for like 4 and 5 hours why is that is dell a sorry brand?

A: Dell puts too much crap in their notebooks. They drain faster than better engineered notebooks. Take my MacBook Pro, for example. I can run for 3-4 hours between charges.

I purchased an extra battery for my Dell notebook computer, because it was very inexpensive with the purchase of the notebook. I expect that in a year or two, when my current battery doesn't hold much of a charge anymore, I'll want to use it, and make my current battery a spare. What is the best way to store this battery for a year or two? It's currently not being used, and I don't expect to use it at all, except perhaps occasionally when I might need a backup battery. But more than likely it will go unused for the next year or two.

Q: Does anyone know how i would install a battery into my dell inspiron 2200 notebook?
My original battery died so i just bought another but i have no idea how to connect it. please help

A: Turn the laptop upside down. The battery is at the forward side of the computer. It has a little latch right next to it, that you can move sideways with your thumb. This should release the battery. Then just make sure that you line up the new one correctly, and it should slip right into place. Then lightly push down so that the same latch secures it. Hope this helps.
