Q: Can I use Vista Home Premium system recovery DVD to recover Vista Business Notebook?
Hi all. I bought a HP Pavilion notebook from school recently. It's suppose to come with vista home premium but the school upgraded our notebook to vista business. Can I use the Vista Home Premium DVD to do a system recovery on my notebook which have Vista Business installed? That is because they didn't provide me with the recovery DVD for Vista Business. Sad
A: The reason they would have put Vista Business on the laptop is so they can access their servers ... home premium won't allow logging onto a dedicated server (unless through remote desktop) you can use the Home Premium Recovery disk but you WILL LOSE all your data it will completely overwrite everything on your hard-drive e.g. Office and your programs will disappear
Q: The difference between a personal and business notebook?
I have been looking into Dell notebooks, and I notice that the business and personal notebooks are almost identical, although they have created 2 seperate categories for them under the Dell.com website.. So why are they under 2 different categories? What are the differences between personal notebooks and small business notebooks?
A: Business notebooks tend to have extra and business oriented software from Microsoft. But in the end if your looking for personal use, i suggest the personal notebook.
Q: Would it be OK for a college student to buy a Dell business notebook?
They seem a lot cheaper.
A: Absolutely.
As a whole, the Latitude (business) line are sturdier machines, and the parts are easier to come by should you need service.
Thats why businesses like them.
Q: What would I need to start a paper notebook printing business?
What I mean by a paper notebook is a book that we write in with pencils and pens in school? Remember those? Just so that people won't be mistaking this for laptops.
A: Why would you want to? They are dime a dozen.
Q: How will Dell Business know if you're really in a business or not when you purchase a notebook from them?
I saw a notebook that I really wanted for a great price, but it's only on the Dell Small Business website. However, I don't have a small business. So, how will they know if I'm in one or not if I purchased it at full price.
A: They wont know just buy it

Q: HP Compaq nx6325 Business Notebook PC?
Friend I need your positive and negative review for purchase HP Compaq nx6325 Business Notebook PC Notebook
they told us that this is build for rugged use and more ???
excellent customer service etc ...
What about HP after sales service and support ., and what about parts availability of hp (india ) after warranty expire
A: The laptop is a more rugged model. The customer service on hp's is average but the product is very sturdy and good quality. There are many ways to contact HP, through telephone, through email, and through online chat services. The parts availability is harder than on some other models (say Dell) but depending on the parts they can be found. I always see HP parts on ebay.com

Q: What is the difference between a consumer notebook and business notebook?
Also why is there a price difference between a consumer notebook and business notebook of the same configuration with the latter being costlier (eg.HP notebooks)?
Also which is the best if budget is not a problem-consumer or business?
A: There is no difference... it's the perception.
They're exactly the same models made by Dell, HP, IBM, Compaq, etc. Some come packaged with software that is for business applications (MS-Office, etc.), and have more-lucrative warranties for business people, but they are all made to the same specifications.
Q: Is the macbook or macbook pro a good notebook for playing games or business major in college?
A: Short answer for the macbook, no.
The macbook pro on the other hand has a great video card. If you dual boot windows like me, you can install any PC game and play it just fine.
I play TF2 on my MBP, and it works great.
As for Business Majors, I would say it would probably make you more productive compared to Windows users, but that is strictly my opinion.
Q: Sony Vaio TX or Apple Notebook for business school?
Hi I'm goin to business school in june and need a very light notebook wit wireless wan, intel centrino processor,DVD Burner,Atleast 512 MB RAM and atleast 60 gb. What type of a laptop will i get at the cheapest for this configuration?I need the lightest possible as I cant carry weights and also need to lug around the whole day...The Sony TX 650P is a good one but a little pricey...I'm looking for somethin between $1000-$1500 max...Any ideas?
well also should i get a apple macbook pro or a powerbook incase i decide to get a apple...
A: I am a Mac owner, in business school, I love Apple. Sounds like this might be a first buy for you, so I would recommend the Sony. I think you will find it easier to work with your school work between the school computers and your computer. Most applications, for example MS Office, will save a file format that can be used on both, but there are some applications your school might offer to you that are only available for a PC. My school will give me Mini-Tab 14, a stat program, but they only bought licenses for the Windows platform, therefore I must buy Virtual PC to run the application on my computer or use the school computers which is a little inconvenient. Besides all that Mac's are a little more expensive. If you decide to go mac I would recommend a Powerbook G4 or a Pro. I hope this helps.
Q: Which laptop is beta (acer 5620z or hp compaq business notebook 530)
I want to buy a laptop which is the best out of the two. pliz help me out. i will use the laptop for school work and home use. so which one is better
A: i would go with a regular Compaq presario laptop, as they have alot more features for the price than the business notebooks, and acers.
Q: Home,business,entertainmen notebook?
What's the difference between those..
Those that mean i cannot use my notebook to do anything i want?
I bought this notebook HP Pavilion dv6000 and it is called entertainment notebook.I like everything in this notebook, how about if i use it for business or in the office?.
A: Its perfectly fine for any use. These names only imply what it can be used to, an entertainment notebook may have more features in terms of graphin and sound than a business one. Technically what you should look at is the features and as long as it has everything you need to complete your task, its a universal laptop to you.
Q: Is there any way to extract vista business from my recovery dvd for my hp notebook?
I want to be able to just reinstall the operating system, without all the trial software. Will it still activate with Microsoft? I'm not looking to pirate here, so please no answers about "well, just download vista business illegally." Thanks in advance!
A: It actually depends on how they put together their recovery DVD, but in general the answer will be "no." If they use a vanilla Vista Business OS install and a subsequent, separate install for their trialware and extras, you may be able to just go into the directory for the OS and start an install from there. However, most manufacturers using what's known as slipstreaming that will integrate the trialware's files and registry setting into the install process just as if it came from Microsoft. In that case, there will not be a way to install the OS by itself.
Q: Whats a good Dell NoteBook for a small business?
