I've looked everywhere online and I can't seem to find anything suitable for anything larger than a 15.4" laptop. Please help me if you know where I can find one... Thanks!

I'm planning on buying it. Anything I should be aware of? Waiting for Circuit City to get it in stock.

Q: I have a 17-inch Toshiba laptop & I'm thinking of selling it to get a Apple Macbook Air, but a 13.3 in screen?
The screen seems tiny compared to what I have now.

A: after using it for a while, you'll get used to it. 13.3" is an average screen size, not that small not that enormous. it's easy to carry around because it's only 3 pounds unlike the toshiba you have. the screen is glossy, it's sharp and bright! compared to other macbooks, air has the best screen.

Q: Where do I buy a new 17"laptop(Toshiba or HP) with Windows XP?
How do I install Windows XP in case I buy a computer with Vista?

A: You should GO with Vista. Really. Get a Toshiba or HP with 1GB of RAM or more and get Windows Vista Home Premium. Look at Costco or Staples. Both stores have an awesome no-hassle return policy. Hang on to the Windows Vista disk that comes with... buy a copy of Windows XP, if that's your choice. The future is Vista, so you really should re-think your plans. Good luck and Happy Computing!

Q: 17" Toshiba Laptop Current Model P200D-139 ?
Any Problems? Hard Drive, Display, Heating, Suggestions for Protection Software. Thank you.

A: get an antivirus program, also a registry cleaner for future use. They can get quite warm so use a bare table or desk and keep the fan clear of paper or mugs etc, right hand side. Very good display but i recommned at least 1gb of RAM and you may need a powered USB port convertor. You may only get 2 USB ports but you can increase these with a convertor. Make sure it is powered tho as it will drain the laptop battery quickly. Protection software I always use Norton and REGCURE for my reg cleaner which i run every week to remove junk

Q: Which laptop do I choose - Toshiba, Sony or HP?? 17" or 15.4"??
My bf is getting me one for Christmas ♥ & I can't choose.. I am indecisive (obviously) :) I will use it for DL music, internet & that is really about it - photos, etc so I know I don't need as much mem or HD as I am getting but just in case, I want the better ones. Sony is more $ for less features & I don't like the keys. I have heard it's the best one though but read otherwise - heats up, stops running in about yr, etc but the repairs on consumer reports are the least. Mixes reviews. Toshiba reviews mentions probs with IE7. 4.1 out of 5 score. Good speakers, comes with 2 GB mem, 160 HD & a shared Nividia (?) video card. The HP has the same name card but a higher model # maybe. Does that make a difference - shared vs not and the model #?? Heard keys are off and small. The HP has 100 hard drive, 1 GB memory, and a video card that is only for video - not shared. It is sharp looking and nice display - sounds good 2.. Do u think I will regret the 17 inch?? What ROUTER ? I know this is the 2nd time I asked but I am trying to get as many answers as I can.. to make a decision. What router do I get - cheapest and best please? Best Buy said I have to "encrypt the router"? WHAT does that mean? :o)

A: HP is the best manufacturer out of the three you listed. Sony laptops are (as you noted) overpriced, and Toshiba laptops are unreliable. If you are going to be playing games or using other graphics-intensive applications, you will want a dedicated video card instead of shared video memory. You will also get better performance under Windows Vista if you have dedicated graphics. You don't want less than 1GB of memory; 2GB is not necessary at the moment but will be nice to have in the upcoming years. For hard drive space, 100GB is probably enough - and if you find yourself running short you can always buy an external USB hard drive. As far as size goes... if you have to carry the laptop around at all, a 17" is probably much too large. You will get sick of lugging it around very quickly. However, if the laptop is going to remain stationary for the most part, then you can explore a 17" as an option.

Q: I'm considering a TOSHIBA Satellite 17" Widescreen Notebook. Would appreciate any comments on this Notebook.

A: It will probably serve you well. I am writing this answer on my Toshiba Satellite that I have had for about two years. I am having continual trouble with the ATI graphics card and sound card. The issue has probably been resolved in the newer models...... however, I must warn against buying the extended warranty at Best Buy..... they have yet to actually correct any problem with any computer I have taken to them.... best of luck.....

Q: I'll ask, if you promise not to laugh! I have a 17" Toshiba Satellite P105.?
Would some please tell me how I type the spanish "N" with the accent over it. I know , I'm feeling pretty lame already but there is no key for it and the accent (not the correct name for it, sorry!) mark is on the first key, (upper position) in the numbers keys. I tried pressing shift, alt, the Fn key, ctrl and I'm not getting it. When you are finished laughing and showing this to your friends, please give me a clue! Shawn - yelobird: You guys rock! Both correct. Thanks !

A: Not a dumb question at all... I would guess that most people don't know how to do this. There are two ways you can accomplish this... For Ñ hold down the "alt" key and type in 0209. When you let go of the alt key, the character will appear. For ñ it's the same procedure, but type in 0241. If you're running Windows XP (I don't know where it is on Vista) you can click on Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Character Map and copy them to the clipboard and then paste them into the document. Just for reference, I think the squiggly line is called a tilde. :) Best of luck.

Q: Do you know where to get a good price in store for a Toshiba Satellite 17” Widescreen Notebook PC P105-S9722
the only price I have seen is $1999 TY

A: It hasn't come out to any local stores that I am aware of. On line it seems to be the only price you can get it for. From what I have heard it won't be out until the end of the week in the stores. Anyway, Maybe look for some store coupons whenthe Notebook comes out in the stores. Costco does NOT carry Toshiba's in store at this time! So don't bother about going there. Looks like an excellent computer.. good one for gamers!

Q: 17 inch widscreen notebook Anti Glare Filter?
I have a toshiba 17 inch widescreen notebook and I am looking for an anti glare filter. I can't find one on the net. Its like a thin flat strip.

A: 3M makes them. Look at office depot and staples. Expensive but effective.
