A: Listen================ You CAN downgrade. You can. Believe me. You can. Microsoft is offering to give you a valid key for XP is you validate that you bought Vista and don't want it. They are keeping it quiet, but you CAN. Download XP from the internet (not illegal, your getting a valid key, you just need the software first) and call microsoft for the key. Done. Actually you can downgrade to XP. Microsoft will allow you to change your Vista to XP but anytime you install a new operating system, all your programs will be lost. A: Make sure to use a disk cleaner software such as Ccleaner.com or the one that comes with windows. Defrag the computer once a month. You can find the disk defragmentor in start -> programs -> accessories -> system tools. You can also get alternative programs that work better than the window's one. O&O or Diskeeper are good. Make sure to keep an antivirus and antispyware on the computer. A hardware or software firewall should be a thing you have also. You can clean the laptop's screen by dampening a piece of cloth and whiping the LCD. There are products you can buy at computer stores especially for this, if you want to purchase it. Practice safe surfing habits and know where and what you are downloading. This is the best protection of all. Installing programs on drive D will only make the program run faster if the harddrive spins faster. Check the RPM on each harddrive to see which is faster. Note, this won't speed the game up but only the LOADING of the files for the game. Optimizing the internet connection is mainly dependent on the hardware you have and the speed of the internet connection. You can go to broadbandreports.com and run a tweak test to see if the settings on the computer are optimized for the computer, but this will not make a huge difference.

A: perfectly possible just get the right type > 2.5" ide / sata connection also, hope you have the hardware manual to open & reach upto hard drive also your restore disks to install operating system, as also other installed programs. add back-up of existing data files ... & if you need help selecting, please post detailed model number of the satellite a200 EDIT: i see the fella below me confirm that a200 uses only sata connections true, i do find that the a200 seems to be a modern series ... nevertheless, i regret not being able to confirm ... without seeing your manual online for self ... hence i requested for model number in full

Well I know you're suppose to open the back up where the ram is stored... so I do know where my ram is. The thing is, I have searched everywhere, including the Toshiba support site, the Kingston and Crucial sites, and pretty much any other site which tells you how many memory sockets you have. The problem is, is that no matter where I go, it always says I have TWO sockets. Which it clearly does not as I have opened it up, took the single 1GB ram out of the ONE socket and put it back in, hoping that the other socket is underneath the first or something, which it wasn't. I've also looked on the A200 spec sheet from Toshiba, which says I have "1 available slot" compared to other A200s that had "1 slot used"... God knows the difference... It also says that I'm able to upgrade to 4GBs (well give or take), so it MUST have 2 memory slots since ram only comes in 2GB max. So my question is, WHERE IS MY OTHER RAM SOCKET? It's driving me nuts... I recently bought the notebook, so was hoping to give it a bit of a boost. I have a Toshiba A200 QHO PSAF3A-0QH01N, 32 bit x64 1.73 dual core vista home premium. And well yea, I'm thinking of getting two 1GBs. Anyone know how to check if a notebook's dual channel apart from opening the thing up? Please help, all you computer know how pros out there. A: You must've missed something. The ram should lay on top of each other. Based on other models, it seems to be that design. So check around the 1GB to see if there's two little clips beneath or around it.

A: right click your screen, click nvidia control panel or ATI catylist control panel or something similar. search through the settings for rotation. change it back! EDIT- Actually you have an Intel graphics chip. Find the Intel properties, or right click on the desktop and go graphics properties and change the rotation to 0 degrees. While you are there disable rotation ;)
